Xochimilco visit - 07/03/21

Taken on my phone on our 'tourist' trip. We saw Axolotls in captivity for $50 pesos entry. We were happy to support the local economy, by renting a 'trajinera', with boatman punting, and buying food along the way. The double-edged sword is of course the noise pollution and tourist's rash we encountered, obvious disturbances to the axolotls and other wildlife. But the local community are desperate to make a living, especially during a global pandemic, and need to be supported. Next time we plant to extend our visit to the 'ecological' tour, into the wider farming areas.
