Xochimilco visit - 'tourist' trip

These photos were taken by Bertie Lamond on our visit on Sunday 07 March. We didn't take the longer 6 hour tour into the farmlands, and instead stuck to the tourist areas. This included a visit to one of the reptile and amphibian displays - it was $50 pesos to enter to visit the axolotls on display. Needless to say it didn't quite represent their natural habitat.

Bertie has an eye for bird photography - and his photos show that Xochimilco, despite the pollution and tourists, still hosts a large number of water bird species! You can find Bertie on Instagram @wildberts.
